Trex Fencing Enclosure for PNC Bank Creedmoor Branch Site Improvement
In summer 2019, Sierra Structures of Durham, North Carolina contracted to perform a site improvement for a PNC Bank branch in nearby Creedmoor. The bank needed a trash enclosure to secure and hide the exposed dumpster from view. Previously, the dumpster sat prominently in the bank’s parking lot.
Dumpsters are necessary features for commercial spaces where employees and customers use facilities on a daily basis. While they are essential, most property owners prefer to keep trash containers hidden from view. The PNC Bank branch in Creedmoor, North Carolina is located on a small plot of land that is situated in such a way that the dumpster had to be placed in plain view of the entry to the parking lot. Rather than simply leaving the trash container in the open, the property owner decided to pour a concrete pad and placed an enclosure on it using Trex Fencing and gate materials. This freed up parking spaces and obscured dumpster from view.

Trex trash enclosures have several advantages. The Trex Seclusions vertical configuration and Trex with Horizons horizontal configuration contribute as design elements, turning a typically unattractive area into a pleasing feature. Trex provides a value engineering alternative to finished masonry. Besides the initial outlay for a masonry wall, Trex is also significantly less expensive to repair than masonry and can be fixed quickly without the need for specialized equipment. Since Trex does not require painting or staining and it will not rot, it is the logical alternative to wood fence and gate options. Commercial property owners do not want to deal with ongoing costs for maintenance. With Trex, the trash enclosure will typically be an installation that does not require attention for years.
Creedmoor, North Carolina
The beautiful Woodland Brown color and the natural look of Trex fencing complement the attractive brick building that houses the bank. Trex lends itself well to the quaint, small town appeal of Creedmoor, integrating into the community the look of a natural landscaped feature rather than the harsh, industrial appearance of a block or cement wall. Although PVC vinyl fences also do not require painting and staining, they are lightweight and more susceptible to damage. Trex fencing has substantially greater durability due to thicker materials and stronger components such as the engineered bottom rail and interlocking pickets.
The attractive surroundings of Creedmoor, a small historically rich town located in Gransville County, are full of tree-lined streets and rolling hills. The city was established officially over 100 years ago and was important in the railroad, tobacco, and mule trading industries. Creedmoor is located just north of Raleigh and is part of the area in North Carolina commonly called The Triangle. The beautiful Falls Lake State Recreational Area provides a pleasant drive up to Creedmoor from the Raleigh-Durham metro area.
